From next Monday until the end of August 2027, there will be full road closures in sections due to extensive construction work on Glösaer Straße.
The combined sewer system, including the connecting sewers and manholes between Franz-Wiesner-Straße (near Lichtenwalder Straße) and Edwin-Hörnle-Straße, is being replaced. In parallel with the construction work being carried out by Chemnitz City Council’s waste management department, the Transport and Civil Engineering Office has commissioned the replacement of dilapidated road drains, including connecting pipes, pavements, drainage channels and kerbs, and the laying of a new asphalt surface.
Access to the properties will then be restricted, though they will always remain accessible on foot. Eurovia Verkehrsbau GmbH is carrying out the construction work. The planned construction costs amount to around 1.6 million euros.
