Chemnitz University of Technology is raffling off vacant places on its degree programmes

For degree programmes with restricted intake, any remaining places will be allocated via a local lottery after the application deadline

At Chemnitz University of Technology, the Bachelor’s degree programme in Psychology, the Primary School Teacher Training programme and the two Master’s degree programmes in Psychology and Psychology with a specialisation in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy are subject to admission restrictions in the 2026/2027 winter semester. If places are still available after the allocation process has been completed, they will be allocated by lottery.

Applications for the lottery can be submitted from 10 to 31 August 2026 via the Chemnitz University of Technology’s application portal. Prospective students who have not previously applied via the regular application process may also take part in the lottery. The remaining places will be allocated by the Student Services department at Chemnitz University of Technology as part of an electronic lottery. The draw will take place by mid-September at the latest.

Enrolment in degree programmes with no admission restrictions is still possible

Enrolment in all Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes with no admission restrictions, as well as in the Teacher Training for Secondary Schools programme at Chemnitz University of Technology, remains open until 18 September 2026 via the university’s online portal. Last-minute applicants and students transferring from other universities can enrol during the late enrolment period until 31 October 2026. A ‘ServiceLine’ set up specifically to answer questions about studying at Chemnitz University of Technology is available Monday to Friday from 12.30 pm to 3.00 pm on 0371 531-33333.

Digital Open Day

On 16 September, Chemnitz University of Technology is inviting prospective students to find out more about studying at the university through a comprehensive online programme.
From 10.00 am, they will receive comprehensive information about studying in Chemnitz in the virtual space. Through presentations, Q&A sessions and other discussion formats, lecturers, academic advisers and students from Chemnitz University of Technology will provide helpful insights and tips on choosing the right degree programme, the enrolment process, everyday student life and campus life.
