Chemnitz – South-West Saxony Regional Master Plan: Final of the ideas competition

When ideas become reality: On 23 June 2026, the ideas competition for the Chemnitz – South-West Saxony Master Plan will reach its climax at Kraftverkehr Chemnitz. From over 60 ideas submitted, the ten best teams will present their innovative concepts to a panel of experts and guests from the worlds of business, academia, politics and various networks.

How do good ideas turn into successful businesses? And which innovations will shape the future of our region? You’ll find out the answers at the 

final of the Masterplan Region Chemnitz – South-West Saxony ideas competition on 23 June 2026 at Kraftverkehr Chemnitz.

On the day, the ten best teams – selected from more than 60 entries – will present their ideas in concise pitches to a panel of experts and the audience. This is where creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and the region’s future prospects come together. 

The finalists will address key future-oriented topics such as artificial intelligence, the circular economy, energy and heating infrastructure, new materials, as well as security and resilience. In short pitches, they will present their projects and demonstrate how innovative ideas can be turned into successful business models.

In addition to the presentations, visitors can look forward to a keynote speech by the Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovations (SPRIND), an engaging panel discussion featuring start-ups, investors and business angels, as well as numerous networking opportunities. The event will conclude with a festive awards ceremony, at which the most compelling projects will be honoured.
