... that’s the sound you’ll hear in the city centre on 29 November. The Great Mountain Parade in Chemnitz traditionally heralds the start of the Christmas season in the Ore Mountains.

This year, around 950 participants will be showcasing this tradition, including more than 600 people in uniform and some 340 miners’ musicians, who will be part of this impressive procession, providing a festive start to the Christmas season in the Ore Mountains.

As usual, the Bergparade starts at 2 pm. The route leads from Theaterplatz via Richard-Tauber-Straße, Straße der Nationen and Brückenstraße, and then back to Theaterplatz.

At around 3 pm, the grand closing ceremony will take place on Theaterplatz. The mountain musicians will bring the event to a musical close together on Theaterplatz.
