Funded small cultural projects in Chemnitz: Palmstraßen Festival

The Palm Street Festival 2022

The idea of the neighbourhood festival is to be anchored as an integral part of the district in the run-up to the Capital of Culture 2025 and beyond.

This year, the garden festival in Palmstrasse offered an exciting, diverse and public programme for the first time. The aim of the garden festival is to enrich the eastern Sonnenberg neighbourhood.

On 25 June 2022, the door to the garden was open this year. With class and cosiness, handmade handicrafts from various trades, such as basket weaving, jewellery, ceramics, printing and so on, were presented to the eye in a whimsical, flowery backyard. The ears were treated to a small but fine selection of live musicians. The headliner of the garden festival was Alocasia. Me&T, Foreghost and Qué pasa also took to the stage. Of course, the stomach was not left unattended either, as a delicious, fresh snack was on offer. The younger guests had the opportunity to try their hand at a real potter's wheel.
