European Capital of Culture 2025

A wide range of activities this year already showed what the European Capital of Culture 2025 can feel like: the first works of art have found their place on the Purple Path in the cultural region and the first Maker Hubs have started work. At the KOSMOS Festival, 50,000 visitors celebrated the festival for democracy. At Makers United in the Stadthalle, makers big and small came together to tinker and try things out. The European Peace Ride travelled through Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany as an ambassador for peace. Construction progress can be seen at the Hartmannfabrik, home to the Welcome Centre and the European Workshop for Culture and Democracy in 2025.
