Volkssolidarität Stadtverband Chemnitz e.V. was founded in 1990 as a non-profit organisation. As an intergenerational social and welfare organisation, it acts as a trusted partner for families, older people, those in need of support, and their relatives.
It is a membership organisation supported predominantly by older citizens.
The member groups foster a spirit of ‘togetherness and mutual support’, providing a home for people who need solidarity and, equally, for those who offer it.
As a social organisation, the association represents the interests of its members and the many socially disadvantaged people, highlights problems and injustices, and puts forward constructive proposals.
As a welfare organisation, Volkssolidarität offers a wide range of social services, from childcare to the care and support of people in need of care.
Volkssolidarität Chemnitz is also a major employer in the social sector in the city of Chemnitz.
