The Sportjugend was founded on 27.02.1992 and is the youth organisation of the Stadtsportbund Chemnitz.
It is the umbrella organisation for around 16,000 children and young people (up to the age of 26) in the city's sports clubs. This makes it the largest youth organisation in the city of Chemnitz.
