The aim and concern of the citizens' association FUER CHEMNITZ e.V. is to bring together the various interests of active Chemnitz residents, including the following focal points:
Care, preservation and protection of historically significant buildings and other monuments
Care and preservation of cultural works
Shaping the city of Chemnitz
The association was founded on 8 March 1996 and is open to all citizens who feel committed to the above-mentioned concerns. Active co-operation is desired and hoped for. The association is non-partisan and non-denominational. Since 2004, it has donated the Chemnitz Peace Prize in recognition of special achievements in shaping life in our city.
