The Chemnitzer Künstlerbund e.V. is a professional association with the aim of cultural promotion and artistic education. It unites visual artists and artists working in the applied arts and is also an integrated member of the Landesverband Bildende Kunst Sachsen e.V. and the Bundesverband Bildende Kunst.
The Chemnitz Artists' Association is publicly effective and non-profit-making through its advisory function on artistic matters, its course and educational programmes and its exhibition activities to enrich the cultural infrastructure of the city and region.
The Chemnitz Artists' Association has 116 members in the city of Chemnitz and the administrative district.
Since 2006, the CKB e.V. has had a project and exhibition space in Chemnitz city centre (Moritzstraße 19). This exhibition centre has become well established in the city and has become an attractive link in the city's independent art scene thanks to its location and the growing number of visitors from Chemnitz who are interested in art. The continuation of the project work is intended to continue to actively enrich Chemnitz's cultural landscape.
Every year, CKB e.V. plans several art projects that are characterised by their experimental and innovative nature, for example, or in which the visual arts are combined with other disciplines or new media.
