Expo Real 2026: Chemnitz boosts its profile as an industrial and technology hub

The Business Division presents the Munich site

From Monday to Wednesday, 5 to 7 October, the city of Chemnitz will once again be represented at Expo Real in Munich. This international trade fair for property, investment and infrastructure is one of Europe’s most important industry events. At the Free State of Saxony’s joint stand in Hall A2, Stand 320, the City of Chemnitz’s Economic Affairs Department will meet with investors, project developers, companies, local authorities and other decision-makers.

Personal interaction is becoming increasingly important, particularly in economically challenging times. Investment decisions are being weighed up more carefully, financing conditions remain challenging, and companies place high demands on locations – ranging from available space and efficient infrastructure, through cost structures and the availability of skilled labour, to long-term development prospects.

Silvana Bergk, Head of the City of Chemnitz’s Economic Development Division: “If you want to attract investment, you need to be visible, approachable and reliable. Expo Real offers us the opportunity to present Chemnitz and its potential through direct dialogue, to deepen existing contacts and to open up new prospects for business establishment and investment.”

The focus of the exhibition stand will be on specific discussions with companies, investors and project partners. These will cover both opportunities for business establishment and development in Chemnitz and the current requirements for attractive business and investment locations.

“For us, Expo Real is not just a platform for showcasing Chemnitz. We also want to actively promote the city as a business location, hold discussions with potential investors and demonstrate the opportunities Chemnitz offers to businesses and project developers. At the same time, we gain a first-hand insight into the requirements investors currently place on locations. We take this knowledge back with us to Chemnitz and use it for the further development of our business location,” said Bergk.
