VIVA LA MUSICA: Concert project by the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chemnitz Municipal Music School with presentation of the "tutti pro" orchestra sponsorship certificate

Since 2011, the Municipal Music School has regularly organised the "Viva la musica" concert in the opera house together with the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra. In this project, musicians from the Robert Schumann Philharmonic enrich the Städtische Musikschule's ensemble with their experience. Pupils and professionals sat side by side on the podium during the rehearsal weeks.

At the concert on Saturday 22 June at 6 pm, the collaboration between the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School and the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra will be celebrated as the 56th "tutti pro" orchestra sponsorship with a festive presentation of certificates. The entrance fee is 5 euros.

Martina Feldmann, Chairwoman of Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland, Dr Klaus-Dieter Anders, member of the Federal Board of the Association of German Music Schools and Petra Nagel, representative of the German Orchestra Association, will be present to present the certificates.

This year, the audience will hear excerpts from Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel" and the "Concertino for string orchestra, piano and percussion instruments" by Chemnitz composer Thomas Stöß. Of course, the very young string students will also be playing in the very favourite "Flitzebögen Orchester". The Youblo wind orchestra, a clarinet ensemble, a string quartet and a percussion ensemble will also be performing.

Bringing youth orchestras and professional orchestras together - this is the idea behind the joint "tutti pro" initiative of Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland and the German Orchestra Association in conjunction with the Association of German Music Schools. "tutti pro" not only means "full orchestra", but also "full commitment". Concert projects resulting from joint work are an opportunity for youth orchestras to conquer great works that might not be possible on their own.

The initiative takes young people's abilities seriously and motivates them to play in an orchestra. Conversely, the enthusiasm and dedication of the young musicians is a constant source of inspiration for the professional musicians. The "tutti pro" orchestra sponsorships are examples of profitable work with young musicians, and their special spirit enriches the German orchestral landscape.
