The little garden failure. Happiness and failure in the countryside
Reading with Stefan Schwarz on 12 September, 7 pm at TIETZ
On Thursday 12 September at 7 pm, Stefan Schwarz will be a guest at the Central Library in the TIETZ and read from his new book "Der kleine Gartenversager".
Stefan Schwarz, who has been one of Leipzig's most unsuccessful allotment gardeners for twenty years, tells in a hilarious way about the happiness of failure in the countryside and why all the futile pruning, weeding, blasting and plucking still makes you happy. Schwarz uses his stories to humorously reconcile us to the soul-strengthening futility of uncoordinated farming on the home turf.
Stefan Schwarz, born in 1965, writes columns, theatre plays and for television, including the book for the ARD series "Sedwitz". Since 2001, he has written an acclaimed column in the monthly magazine DAS MAGAZIN. To date, he has published the columns "War das jetzt schon Sex?", "Die Kunst, als Mann beachtet zu werden" and "Ich kann nicht, wenn die Katze zuschaut". In 2010, Stefan Schwarz published his first novel "Hüftkreisen mit Nancy". Most recently, he published his successful novels "Das wird ein bisschen wehtun" (2012), "Die Großrussin" (2014) and "Oberkante Unterlippe" (2016) as well as the column collection "Lass uns lieber morgen!" (SeitenstraßenVerlag), followed in 2018 by the next novel "Als Männer noch nicht in Betten starben" (Rowohlt). His readings have long enjoyed cult status.
