"The head must always stay up"
A contemporary witness from Chemnitz talks about her fate during the Nazi era - on 7 November, 7 p.m.
Edith Heinrich, born in Breslau in 1933, will talk about her family's fate during the Nazi era on Thursday, 7 November from 7 to 8.30 p.m. at the TIETZ in the adult education centre, room 4.07. Admission is free. Admission is free. (Registration is not required.)
While Edith Heinrich remained silent for many decades, she now speaks out to describe her fate. A moving testimony to the 20th century. It is a story of hatred and persecution, of flight and expulsion, but also of love and survival, of cohesion and solidarity.
The story is also a reminder not to erase such events from our collective memory and to do everything we can to ensure that they are never repeated, so that no one is considered inferior or even has to fear for their life.
This event is a co-operation between the VVN-BdA Chemnitz and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
