Survey on housing and living at Brühl in Chemnitz
Public presentation of the survey results on 16 July, 6 pm, Theaterplatz
On Thursday 16 July at 6 pm, Mayor Michael Stötzer will present the results of the Brühl survey at the Film Nights on Theaterplatz. Admission is free. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to take a walk around the Brühl and ask further questions. The results of the survey will also be published in the Chemnitz official gazette, on the city's website www.chemnitz.de and in the Brühl office.
What is important to people in Brühl? Residents and tradespeople were able to express their opinions in a survey conducted by the city council in June. The response rate of over 30 per cent, which is very high for a written survey, confirms that there was a lot to say and that interest is high.
Background: In its April meeting, the city council commissioned the administration to carry out a survey on whether the Brühl should be converted from a general residential area to a so-called "urban area" under planning law. The questionnaires were intended to record the wishes, suggestions and concerns of local residents. The aim is now to find solutions that harmonise both wishes and existing legal standards.
The desire for a lively and enjoyable Brühl has not only concerned its residents for years. Thanks to the commitment of many local stakeholders, Brühl has developed into a lively and culturally diverse neighbourhood with an increasing mix of living and working, leisure and gastronomy. However, the creative interaction has also led to controversial discussions about further development.
