Musical talents honoured several times

Following Margarita Luise Maposse's great success with the highest score for her contribution in pop singing in the national "Jugend musiziert" competition in Halle, music students collected further prizes and awards last weekend.

First prize in the ensemble competition "enviaM - Music from Municipalities"

On Friday, 21 June, the piano trio "Blue Boys" with Jonathan Morgenstern (piano), Maximilian Zaunick (violin) and Matthias Wagner (cello) performed at this year's Saxon state competition of the ensemble competition "enviaM-MUSIK AUS KOMMUNEN" in Frohburg in the district of Leipzig and won first prize.

A total of 16 ensembles with over 60 participants from all over Saxony entered the competition. These included instrumental or mixed ensembles of all genres with two to ten participants. In addition to the Saxon competition, state competitions will also be held in Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg. The state finals will be held in Halle/Saale on 10 November 2019.

envia Mitteldeutsche Energie AG (enviaM) is organising the competition together with the Association of German Music Schools and its member schools in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg.

Youth Art Prize of the Saxony State Association for the Cultural Education of Children and Young People

The first prize of the LKJ Saxony Youth Art Award in the photography/film category went to the students of Ensemble C of the Chemnitz Music School for the film "Suche nach C" (Search for C).
Martin Kunze (camera and editing), Alex Florian Lingath, Mariam Winkler, Katharina Kunze and Josephine Lehnert (actors / all Ensemble C students) and Ensemble C (music) were involved.

The short film is about two people who have lost something, one of them something
something material and the other is lost in thought. They show different places in the city, both beautiful and not so beautiful, and find what they are looking for in the same place.

More than 300 young people from almost all parts of Saxony took part in the 12th competition for the LKJ Saxony Youth Art Prize at the Theater der Jungen Welt Leipzig on Saturday 22 June. First prizes went to Eilenburg, Chemnitz, Leipzig and Dresden.
Prizes totalling 2,400 euros were awarded.

The patron of the event, Petra Köpping, Minister of State for Equality and
Integration, opened the award ceremony with a welcoming address. She thanked the organisers and pointed out the political importance of compassion and love as the basis for good coexistence.

The response to the theme "Where is the love?" was high and the range of contributions was wide - more than 100 drawings, paintings, objects and photographs were presented as part of an exhibition. The search for love, affirmation and recognition with all its challenges struck a chord with the young people.
