German Bid Book published - Mayor of Chemnitz invites Chemnitz residents to join the discussion

Das Chemnitzer Bid Book ist online

Mayor Barbara Ludwig today presented the German version of Chemnitz's bid to become European Capital of Culture.

The bid book is available free of charge to all interested citizens at the Capital of Culture office in Tietz. There will also be a permanent exhibition on the bid starting next week. Barbara Ludwig comments: "I want as many residents as possible to take the opportunity to engage with the bid and get involved in the ongoing process. The bid book is the basis for this. We are convinced that we will reach the second round of the bid process in mid-December with this book, which more than 200 Chemnitz residents were involved in creating." The city is also organising several discussion events at which the bid will be presented and anyone interested can join in the discussion and get involved. These will mainly take place at the TIETZ, but the residents' meeting in Mitte-West on 15 November in the Schloßteichhalle will also focus on the Capital of Culture.

The opening hours of the Capital of Culture Office are
Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thursday from 1 to 6 pm
Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The public discussions about the application will take place:
24 October: Opening of the permanent exhibition and After Work discussion, 5 to 7 p.m.
7 November: Culture Committee, Town Hall, Room 118, 4.30 pm
14 November: After-work discussion at TIETZ, 5 to 7 p.m.
15 November: Mitte-West residents' meeting, Schloßteichhalle
