European Capital of Culture 2025 - Chemnitz thanks the jury for its advice
The European jury for the award of the title European Capital of Culture 2025 has today published its reports on the individual applicants. These reports contain information for the applicants on where the jury sees the strengths and weaknesses of each application.
The project manager of the Chemnitz application, Ferenc Csák, commented: "We would like to thank the jury for their detailed feedback. We are happy to incorporate the suggestions into our second application book. Our aim is to win the title of European Capital of Culture 2025 in November. As a city and urban society, and together with the region around Chemnitz, we will be pooling and utilising all our strengths to achieve this in the coming months."
The next application phase will once again require special efforts in the conceptual work. Six criteria are decisive: the long-term strategy, the European dimension, cultural and artistic content, realisability, community involvement and administrative capacities.
The Capital of Culture Office team is already working intensively on all of these points, Csák continued. There will also be much more information and involvement of the city's society at many events in the coming months in order to make everyone aware of the great opportunity to win the title.
"By reaching the second round, Chemnitz and the region have a unique opportunity to kick-start the development turbo. We definitely want to capitalise on this," says Ferenc Csák.
