Day of action against right-wing violence on 11 September at the Red Tower
Information from the LAP coordination centre: Publication of five large posters with the portraits of the "Show your face against right-wing violence" campaign - citizens are cordially invited to take part in the campaign
The "Show your face against right-wing violence" campaign (PM 448 from 1 August 2012 - www.chemnitz.de), which is run by the Chemnitz Workers' Welfare Association, has received further prominent support: As the coordination centre for the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz (LAP) informs, Culcha Candela, a reggae/dancehall/hip-hop group from Berlin with an international line-up, and Marquess, a German pop music band from Hanover, are now among the faces of the Chemnitz campaign. The aim of the day of action against right-wing violence, which will take place on Tuesday, 11 September, is to raise public awareness of the campaign. Projects will be presented, information material handed out and supporters introduced in the Red Tower area from 1 pm. The container of the BI "Centre against the Right" will be open to interested citizens.
Parallel to the day of action, the large-format (354 cm x 247 cm) posters with portraits of the "Show your face against right-wing violence" campaign will be displayed on five megalights in Chemnitz (photo): Annabergerstraße 174/ Scheffelstraße, Annabergerstraße 15 (on the tower block), Banhofstraße 5-9, Hainstraße 93/Peterstraße in the Sonnenberg district and at Zwickauerstraße 398. Citizens who want to show civil courage can also have their picture taken on site from 1 pm on 11 September to take part in the campaign. The portraits will be published on the project website www.chemnitz-zeigt-gesicht.de.
