Cultural strategy as a hidden object
Chemnitz in the year 2030 - a journey of discovery to unfold
Today, the cultural strategy of the city of Chemnitz was published as a hidden object. Mayor Ralph Burghart, the two artists Stephanie Brittnacher (design), Pascal Anselmi (text) and the head of the city's cultural organisation, Ferenc Csák, presented the fold-out poster.
The City of Chemnitz's cultural strategy for the period up to 2030 was adopted by the City Council in January 2019 and has already been published in full in a brochure. In a design competition organised by the city, the creative team Brittnachcer/Anselmi and Christian Friesel (translation) developed the idea of a folding poster similar to a "hidden object picture".
The hidden object picture - a graphic variant of the cultural strategy - clearly illustrates the key points for future cultural development. The strategy "unfolds" step by step and shows the cultural life, character and people of the city of Chemnitz with humour and charm.
In the hidden object picture, you can go on a journey through time and gradually explore the city and the process of developing the cultural strategy. With each unfolding, a new chapter of the cultural strategy opens up: from the vision to the thematic areas to the final poster "Chemnitz in 2030". There is even a small search game with a question about the realisation of the original ideas.
The folding posters are available to take away from the town hall and on the ground floor of the TIETZ in the Kultur.RAUM and the Capital of Culture Office as well as in the Moritzhof (while stocks last). The folding poster can also be viewed, printed out and folded HERE (German version, English version, folding instructions).
