Complex civil engineering measures in "Thüringer Weg" and "Am Wartburghof" completed
The extensive civil engineering works in the streets "Thüringer Weg" and "Am Wartburghof" were completed this week, ten days earlier than originally planned.
In a complex project carried out last year by the city's waste disposal company, the utility company eins energie and the city's civil engineering department, the roadways and pavements were completely upgraded and improved in terms of traffic in addition to the renewal of the underground pipes and the commissioning of a new street lighting system.
Over a length of approx. 350 metres, the previous paved surface was replaced by an asphalt pavement. Alongside the carriageway, permanent longitudinal parking bays were created in the area of the development. The "Am Wartburghof" carriageway was widened from three to approx. 5.50 metres. This widening of the residential road will enable two-way traffic in the future. On behalf of the waste disposal company, combined sewers with nominal diameters of DN 400 to DN 600 were replaced along the entire length of the road. The drinking water pipeline and the gas pipeline were renewed by eins energie.
In addition, the bus stop for the "Am Wartburghof" ring bus route in the direction of Reichenhainer Straße was also made barrier-free.
The construction costs for the entire project totalled around 1.4 million euros. The road construction portion amounts to around 500,000 euros. Strabag AG, Saxony/Thuringia Directorate from 08112 Wilkau-Haßlau was commissioned with the construction work.
