Autumn holidays at the "Window into the Earth's history"

Museum of Natural History invites visitors to explore and try things out at the "Window into Earth's History"

During the autumn holidays from 14 to 25 October, the Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz is offering events at its branch "Fenster in die Erdgeschichte", Glockenstraße 16, which invite visitors to explore and try things out.

Fossil hunters - on 14, 17 and 22 October, 1 pm each day
As "fossil hunters", the holiday children will gain insights into the flora and fauna of our earth's history. On Monday, 14 October, Thursday, 17 October and Tuesday, 22 October, all at 1 pm, they can explore the excavation and find out what is behind the term fossil and how a fossil is formed.

Excavation helpers - on 15, 18, 23 and 25 October, 1 p.m. each day
As "excavation helpers", the young visitors become junior researchers and learn from the scientists how an excavation works.
On Tuesday, 15 October, Friday, 18 October, Wednesday, 23 October and Friday, 25 October, all from 1 pm, they can get active themselves and search for treasures that they can also take home with them.

Taxidermist - on 16, 21 and 24 October, 1 p.m. each day
Young researchers will receive exciting background information about the profession of geological taxidermist at the "Taxidermist" holiday programme. On Wednesday, 16 October, Monday, 21 October and Thursday, 24 October, all from 1 pm, the holiday children can become taxidermists themselves, try out equipment and work on fossils (from 6 years).

The "Window into the Earth's History" project is subsidised by the European Social Fund (ESF). Participation is free of charge*.
