Tree care work in the city of Chemnitz in autumn 2012 (III. and IV. quarter)
The ongoing tree inspections throughout the city of Chemnitz and the results of the current expert report have shown that tree maintenance work (pruning and felling) must be carried out for safety reasons. This necessary tree maintenance work will be carried out by employees of the City of Chemnitz Parks Department in the third and fourth quarters of autumn 2012.
Without exception, all of the upcoming work is urgent work that serves to maintain or establish road safety. All woodland maintenance measures in terms of the duty to maintain road safety are legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under §39 BNatSchG or §25 SächsNatSchg.
Wherever space permits, the Parks Department will arrange for replanting. Please refer to the attached lists for detailed information on the reasons for felling.
