Stadium remodelling: City of Chemnitz will clarify open points with the State Directorate of Saxony
Mayor Ludwig: We assume that the Free State of Bavaria will support the project
The City of Chemnitz has taken note of today's media information from the State Directorate of Saxony on the rejection of the regulatory approvals.
Coordination between the city administration and the state directorate has taken place in all project phases. Draft contracts and contract contents have also been submitted to the approval authority. At the same time, however, the city has also repeatedly pointed out that the final version of the contracts can only be submitted once the prospect of basic approval for the project as a whole has been raised. However, the City of Chemnitz is of course prepared to submit further documents if necessary in order to obtain approval.
The City of Chemnitz last commented on the question of commissioning its subsidiary GGG to the State Directorate in July and, with the involvement of a law firm specialising in this field, provided comprehensive reasons for the decision.
"We assume that the Free State will support us in this project for Chemnitz football in line with the promise made by the Minister President. We will therefore seek dialogue with the State Directorate in order to clarify the open points and jointly establish the basis for approval," said Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig.
