7th Chemnitz company run on 5 September in the city centre
Traffic authority provides information on necessary traffic space restrictions
On Wednesday, 5 September, the 7th company run will take place in Chemnitz under the patronage of the Lord Mayor. The organiser - Sportmacher GmbH - is expecting up to 3,000 participants and is also hoping for a corresponding number of visitors.
As last year, the start and finish will be on Brückenstraße: At 6.30 pm, Mayor Barbara Ludwig will give the starting signal for the run, which will take the following route: Brückenstraße - Mühlenstraße - Georgstraße - Promenadenstraße - Schloteichstraße - Schloßteichinsel - Erich-Schmidt-Straße - Promenadenstraße - Arndtplatz - Arndtstraße - Schlossstraße - Georgstraße - crossing bridge to Rochlitzer Straße - Mühlenstraße - Theaterstraße - Webergasse - Jakobikirchplatz - Markt - Neumarkt - Richard-Möbius-Straße - Am Wall - Straße der Nationen - finish: Brückenstraße.
Information from the traffic authorities: The city's traffic authority asks for your attention and understanding for the following temporary traffic restrictions on 5 September, which are necessary to safeguard the event due to the fortunately increasing participation in the company run:
Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße / Mühlenstraße will be closed to private traffic from 9 am to 10 pm. Regular traffic will be guaranteed on Brückenstraße until 4.30 pm and again from 8.30 pm.
To secure the running route, Theaterstraßebetween Hartmannstraße and Brückenstraße (towards Mühlenstraße), Mühlenstraße between Brückenstraße and Georgstraße, Georgstraße between Mühlenstraße and Promenstraße will be closed to traffic. e between Mühlenstraße and Promenadenstraße, Schlossstraße between Arndtstraße and Georgstraße and Promenadenstraße between Erich-Schmidt-Straße and Müllerstraße will be closed from 18:15 to 19:15 hrs. Local traffic will be guaranteed.
Schloßteichstraße will be converted into a one-way street (in the direction of Bergstraße) from Promenadenstraße to Bergstraße from 18:15 to 19:15.
The closures on the running route will be opened immediately after the end of the run (approx. 19:15) and on Brückenstraße at 22:00. The Chemnitz-Erzgebirge Police Headquarters will be involved in securing the running event.
