Ice skating
Ice skating is one of the most popular leisure activities in winter in the city: in the Chemnitz Ice Sport Centre in Küchwald Forest, two synthetic ice rinks with a total area of 7400 m² are available in the ice sport hall and on the 400-metre speed skating track.

The ice sport hall opens its doors from the beginning of October to mid-March, and visitors can enjoy doing their laps in the open air on the speed skating track from mid-October to the beginning of March.
Curling is also possible for groups by arrangement. Children can also try ice skating in taster courses. You can attend numerous figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey events as a spectator, or join a club and take part yourself. A highlight in the run-up to Christmas is the annual Chemnitz Ice Fairy Tale. The event transforms ice skating fun into a real winter experience.
