The Markuskirche (Church of St Markus) is regarded as the landmark
of the Sonnenberg.
The church was built in the Neo-Gothic style in 1893-95 according
to plans of the Berlin company Abesser und Kröger.
With its brick veneer the structure displays the characteristic
features of the North German Gothic architecture built in brick.
The church with its 84m high double-spire tower is visible for
miles around.
