Rabenstein Castle was built around 1170 and is the smallest medieval
castle in Saxony.
Of the formerly considerable moated castle only the upper castle
with keep and the palatial eastern wing are still preserved today.
Within the hall there are murals from the beginnings of the 17th
century. In 1955/56 Rabenstein Castle was refurbished and it has
been accessible for visitors again since 1959.
The castle is set in delightful scenery and is a popular attraction
for visitors. Particular highlights are the medieval castle festivities
as well as the theatre and concert performances.
