Kaßberg

Kaßberg

The Kaßberg is the most significant residential quarter in the city from an art history perspective. Most of the surviving buildings feature elements of art nouveau and historism.

Approximately 600 middle-class residential buildings, churches, schools and historical administrative buildings as well as the Kaßberg hillside with its late medieval bierkellers and various bridges have been preserved. Numerous buildings are currently undergoing reconstruction.

Of particular note are two residential buildings adorned with majolica at Barbarossastraße 48-52 and the residential buildings at Kochstraße 19, Ulmenstraße 16 and Eulitzstraße 28.
