Ebersdorf abbey church "to our dear lady"

The Ebersdorf Collegiate Church of Our Lady

The abbey church is a Romanesque predecessor church which was converted at the beginning of the 15th century in the Gothic style. The circular wall and two fortified towers of the structure, which was designed as a fortified church still partly exist.

An architectural highlight is the octagonal chapel (Lady chapel) with a stellar vault. Treasures such as murals from the 15th century can be seen and there are unusually opulently vivid features, for example, works by Hans Witten, a carved crucifix and two figures holding the lectern, deacon and angel.

A votive offering, the so-called gold boat, is possibly the oldest model of a caravel in Europe.
