For more than 10 years the cultural festival Chemnitzer BEGEGNUNGEN (Encounters) which takes place in the autumn has been attracting numerous visitors.

The encounters occur in traditional as well as off-beat surroundings such as the opera house or other usual venues and now, to an increasingly greater degree, in other places like workshops or even shopping centers. Here art, business and science interface in a series of experimental projects, colloquia, and discussions within the festival´s framework of performances featuring well-known, internationally-acclaimed artists.
